Blog a blog 03 few weeks of silence

I thought that I’ll just jump and get my hand dirty. All this guys write tests like ninjas, isn’t it cool ? I also want to be cool and start from red and celebrate on green. Not a big objective than getting confortable in the new environment. For this: I’ve attended NYC Ruby Hack Fest; reviewed my Google Reader feeds to pool the best Ruby and Rails resources and I’ve bought me an iMac.

What did you say about testing ?

  • What should be red?
  • Where do you start from feature, story, acceptance criteria ?
  • How do you test: model, controller, view ?
  • Which kind of testing do you do interaction, state ?
  • How do you express your knowledge ?
  • How do you do regression ?
  • Which tools do you use for testing ?

Probably there are better resources to answer my questions but I’ve found this Rspec book and I did not get disappointed.

This is another crazy idea. Now I’m going to write as I go, how to move from blog engine X to Y. X is mine, why Y also mine ? The lesson learned is:

if you are not mistaken you are not learning anything
